The Yaquina Head Lighthouse is a working lighthouse in Newport, OR. It is also the tallest lighthouse on the Oregon coast. In the winter it's a popular spot for whale watching (my goal is to see some whales at some point while I'm here). Also after a little hike down to the ocean you can get to Cobble Beach. The cobblestone beach is covered with driftwood and at low tide there are usually seals on the rocks. Mom and I went to the lighthouse the first full day we were in Newport. We did not catch low tide so I will have to go back and try to see some seals!
