It was around September 26th (only a week and a half until my Vinita job ended) that I found out about a job opportunity in Newport, OR. I had already gotten both my Washington and Oregon PT licenses and had heard of a few other opportunities before accepting the Newport contract. Everything happens so fast and at the last minute. It is a stressful time but then all the sudden you are planning a journey across the country!
I decided on Newport because for one it was an outpatient clinic and also because it is located on the coast. As you will see from my many pictures to come, it is beautiful. But first I have to document the 4 day journey it took to get to Oregon. Thank goodness for my mom, who drove with me, because it was a LONG drive! Lucky we got to see some friends and family along the way and see a part of the country that neither one of us had ever been to. We went through 8 states (Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Washington, and finally Oregon) and traveled 2099 miles. Washington was an added bonus since it was so close and 8 states sounds so much better than 7!

So glad I got a new car to fit all my stuff! |

Worst part of the drive - Highway 80 through Wyoming. So windy that I thought we were literally going to blow off the road (probably would have if I wouldn't have packed so much!) |
